What it is & why it matters
Onboard Charger
The charger converts mains AC to the DC your pack needs, using CC-CV (constant current then constant voltage) and stopping when full. Output voltage must match the pack; current sets charge speed. For Pakistan's wide 220V/50Hz grid (with dips & surges), a robust, surge-protected charger matters.
Key specs to check
Input AC 110–240V 50/60Hz
Wide-input survives grid dips
Output 48V / 60V / 72V
Must equal pack nominal
Current 5–15 A
Higher = faster charge
Mode CC-CV + cutoff
Stops at full, no over-charge
Protection OVP / OTP / Short
Surge & thermal guarded
Cooling Fan / Sealed
Fan for higher amperage
How to choose for Pakistan
- Output voltage must equal pack nominal (e.g. 84V charger for 72V LiFePO4).
- Wide AC input (110–240V) survives load-shedding & surges.
- 5A for overnight, 10–15A for quick top-ups.
- Look for automatic cutoff and temperature protection.
Common buying mistakes
- Wrong output voltage destroys the pack instantly.
- No cutoff = trickle-charges forever, cooking cells.
- Cheap chargers without surge protection die on PK grid spikes.

Common questions
Match the pack's charge voltage: a 72V LiFePO4 pack needs an ~84V charger. Never guess.
Time ≈ pack kWh ÷ charger kW. A 2.4 kWh pack on a 10A/72V (0.72 kW) charger ≈ 3.5 h.
Pakistan grid dips and surges; 110–240V input keeps charging through fluctuations.
