What it is & why it matters
Brakes
Brakes turn motion back into heat. Disc brakes (160–220 mm) stop harder and cool better; drum is cheaper and sealed. CBS links front/rear; ABS prevents skid on wet roads. For loaded e-motos in traffic, disc + CBS is the safe baseline.

How to choose for Pakistan
- Disc (≥180 mm) for e-motos above 1500 W.
- Hydraulic for less hand effort in traffic.
- CBS standard; ABS if riding wet/hilly.
- Sintered pads for cargo & heat.
Common buying mistakes
- Drum on a fast/heavy bike = long, fading stops.
- No CBS → rear locks before front bites.
- Organic pads fade under cargo heat.

Common questions
Disc (≥180 mm) for any e-moto over 1500 W; drum only for low-speed light bikes.
On wet or hilly routes, ABS prevents skids — a worthwhile safety upgrade for daily use.
CBS links front and rear so one lever stops both; safer for less experienced riders.
