Solar System Architectures — How a 1 kW to 5 kW Hybrid Power System Works
Whether you size a system at 1 kW for a single shop or 5 kW for a full home, every solar hybrid installation is built from the same five building blocks. This page walks through the Solar Hybrid Power System topology — the same diagram our Pakistan solar desk uses on site — so you can see exactly how the panels, inverter, battery, grid and your appliances connect, and which YBNIU line fits each role.

Sunlight → Solar Panel → Solar Inverter, which ties to the KE/WAPDA grid and an External Battery, and powers your Home / Appliances.

The five building blocks
1 · Solar Panel — Generation
The panels turn sunlight into DC electricity. More panels (or higher-watt panels) mean more generation, which is how you scale a system from 1 kW toward 5 kW. YBNIU's 550W mono half-cut panel (YB-SO-P01) is the workhorse for Pakistani rooftops — ≥21% efficiency, built for 48 °C+ summers.
2 · Solar Inverter — The Brain
The hybrid inverter converts the panels' DC into 230V AC for your home, manages charging the battery, and seamlessly blends grid (KE/WAPDA) and solar. YBNIU offers a 5kW hybrid inverter (YB-SO-I01) and a 10kW unit (YB-SO-I02), both with a built-in MPPT and <10 ms grid-to-battery transfer.
3 · External Battery — Storage
The battery banks midday solar and releases it during load-shedding and at night. YBNIU ships ready 48V 100Ah LiFePO4 packs (YB-SO-B02, 5.12 kWh), or grade-A LiFePO4 cells (YB-SO-B01) if you build packs yourself. Parallel more packs to grow storage as your load grows.
4 · KE / WAPDA — Utility Input
Pakistan's grid feeds the inverter as a backup source and, where net-metering applies, can take excess solar back. The hybrid inverter keeps your loads powered whether the grid is up, down, or selling surplus.
5 · Home / Appliances — The Loads
Everything the system powers: fans, lights, fridge, TV, water pump and (on the 5 kW build) a 1.5-ton inverter AC. Right-sizing the panels and battery to these loads is what moves a design from 1 kW to 5 kW.
Sizing from 1 kW to 5 kW
- ~1 kW: a shop or single room — 2–3 panels, one small inverter, one 48V pack. Covers lights, fan, TV, router.
- ~3 kW: a flat or small house — 6 panels, 3–5 kW inverter, 1–2 battery packs. Adds fridge and a few hours of backup.
- ~5 kW: a full home — 10 panels, 5 kW hybrid inverter, 2× 48V 100Ah packs (≈10 kWh). Runs fridge, fans, lights, TV, pump and a 1.5-ton inverter AC through outages.
Exact panel and battery counts depend on your daily kWh and backup hours — our Pakistan desk sizes it for free from your bill.
